  13. This tiny tool can change the memory priority of any memory node  available
  14. in  your  system.  The  priority  determines which memory is prefered to be
  15. allocated if it's free.
  16.  
  17. Why could it be useful to change the priority? Let's say you've got  32  MB
  18. on  your  Cyberstorm  and  8  MB  on your A4000 mainboard. Now you need the
  19. largest block available for ShapeShifter. During bootup, your CS memory  is
  20. filled  up,  leaving  just about 28 MB free on the CS board but the 8 MB on
  21. your motherboard remain untouched. Now, if you lower the  priority  of  the
  22. CS-Ram  or  increase the priority of the mainboard ram, the big 32 MB chunk
  23. doesn't  get  filled  during  boot  up,  leaving  it  for  your  use   with
  24. ShapeShifter.

  30. ChangeMemPri needs Kick 2.04 or higher.

  34. ChangeMemPri [NAME] yourmemory [PRI] newpri [LIST]
  35. ChangeMemPri START address [PRI] newpri [LIST]

  41. You might have to use quotes if the name of the memory node contains spaces
  42. (e.g. "chip memory" or "expansion memory").

  44. If you have got two or more memory chunks in your system carrying the  same
  45. name,  you  better provide a startadress to identify the board more clearly
  46. (e.g 'ChangeMemPri START 8000000  40'  will  change  the  priority  of  the
  47. CyberStorm Memory Board to 40).

  49. Specifying  the  optional  LIST  switch  or  running  ChangeMemPri  without
  50. parameters returns a list of all the memory nodes available.

  54. V2.0 (12-Feb-98): Finally works now. I didn't know you have to sort the
  55.                   lists after changing the priority.
  56.                   When using the START option, NAME is no longer required.
  57. V1.2 (08-Feb-98): Added LIST option.

  59.                   with the same name.
